Irish Coffee Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients:

irish whiskey, hot coffee, demerara sugar, heavy cream

Invented by Joe Sheridan in 1943 at Foynes Airport in Ireland to warm cold transatlantic passengers. Popularized in San Francisco in the 1950s.

Ingredients

irish whiskey 1.5 oz
hot coffee 6 oz
demerara sugar 2 tsp
heavy cream 1 oz (lightly whipped)

Instructions

Warm a glass mug.
Add sugar and whiskey, then hot coffee.
Stir to dissolve sugar.
Float whipped cream on top by pouring over the back of a spoon.
No garnish.
